In 1275 the City bought some houses next to the Torre del Popolo to build new headquarters for the captain's judiciary. In 1282 construction was completed and Captain Guido de' Rossi from Florence had his coat of arms engraved between two shields with the cross which was a symbol of the City.
In 1926 the palace was subjected to major restoration Neo 13th Century according to the blueprints by architect Roger Antonelli (Perugia 1888-1974).
The ground floor rooms were decorated with paintings by Adalberto Migliorati (Rome 1902 - Perugia 1953) with representations of medieval crafts.

FIRE ALARM SYSTEM

The exhibition space is equipped with portable powder fire extinguishers.
The same are placed in easily visible and easily accessible places with pictograms of easy identification.

FEATURES AND LOCATION

The Sala Palazzo Capitano del Popolo is located in Piazza del Comune near the Torre del Popolo. The outer facade is in exposed Assisi stone work; the attics have vaulted and frescoed. The interior walls are plastered with cement mortar and collection of lime; the paint is dark pink fresco tempera. The floor is in synthetic melamine parquet.
